Those kinds of simple dishes always hit the spot.

Made some more ghee - hasnโ€™t cooled yet but a gorgeous color!

Since Houlimi cheese runs$16/lb here I thought I would try my hand at making my own. Looks good so farโ€ฆ will report back after Iโ€™ve fried some up

Found this at Walmart and made last night. Was good! And spicy. I couldnโ€™t find one objectionable ingredient in the list. Impressive for processed foods. It had a separate packet with a bay leaf, dried pepper, cardamom seeds and a small cinnamon stick.

Iโ€™m on a cheesy caulimash kick at the momentโ€ฆhad some of that along with salmon, chicken and some Boston beans. Could eat it all over again!

@ClareBear Iโ€™ve never heard of green beans called Boston Beans. Usually thatโ€™s a baked brown bean dish with a sweet flavor from molasses, brown sugar, onions, ketchup, mustard and often bacon. Really delicious but so out on keto. :cowboy_hat_face:

Had a taste for Egg-Foo-Young again today, so made up a batch. Added 2 Extra Eggs, some chopped Scallions and made a double batch of the Sauce since my Son was joining me. (I also want to test the Sauce for longevity, since my Son has asked about using it for some other dishes) โ€ฆ Ate 3 nice patties.

Oh really?! Iโ€™m not sure why theyโ€™re called Boston beansโ€ฆthatโ€™s what was on the packet so I went with it! :joy: Iโ€™ve always known them to be green beansโ€ฆmaybe this is a particular kind?

This weekโ€™s reddit challenge was โ€œSri Lanka,โ€ so we made Sri Lankan deviled steak

I thinned the radishes today - @Janie and @Shinita you inspired me to grow these!

Popped them into tonightโ€™s salad, complete with their shredded leaves. Lovely!

The coronation chicken was made from a kilo of drumsticks and thighs roasted overnight in the slow cooker. Two thirds of it made four portions of coronation chicken, and the other third will go into an Asian chicken konjac noodle dish over the weekend (I slow-cooked the chicken bits with water, ginger, chillies, bay leaves and star anise for most of the day - itโ€™s turned into a load of very aromatic stock that I canโ€™t wait to use)!

(And I ate the ends of the chicken bones, plus all the marrow I could get out of them. Heaven!)

Future Keto! Ribeye on the hoof! I thought, โ€œoh, youโ€™re gonna be sorry you stuck your head through!โ€ but he pulled those long appendages through like they were nothing. We are out geocaching in the boonies SE of Austin before the โ€œrain eventโ€ begins tomorrow.

Iโ€™m loving this stuff:

Iโ€™ve been getting mine from Walmart for $3.26 a jar.

Iโ€™ve had sweet and sour chicken and sweet and sour shrimp the last two days. I just put some veggies with butter and spices into the microwave for 6 minutes, then add my proteins and chili sauce and back into the microwave for another minute.

A little bit of the sauce goes a long way.

Hmm. Iโ€™ll have to try it with some kelp noodles I bought.

(Candy Lind) #1338

Too much sugar for this addict. :slightly_frowning_face: I WOULD like to hear about how to make the halloumi!

(Candy Lind) #1339

HAHA, no, more like finding cheesy Rubbermaid containers in the woods with billion dollar satellites.

Egg baked in bell pepper with cheddar cheese and a side of chicken sausage. The egg dish would have been perfect If EDC1BD46-C66C-4E13-9045-71DE3242EF83 2744FC58-1893-4364-B240-500E8DC69FF9 I hadnโ€™t over baked it. But the taste, nonetheless, was still very nice.

(Ideom) #1341

David, how do you sear, there? That looks perfect. Little bit of oil, get the skillet to where it starts to smoke, etc?

(Full Metal KETO AF) #1342

@IdesOfMarch First I do it outside on a really high powered wok stove because it makes too much smoke for indoors. But basically I made a rub for the meat and put it on a well dried sousvide steak. Itโ€™s seared in a liberal amount of bacon grease for just about a minute per side.

(Ideom) #1343

Thank you. The smoke is definitely a factor. :relaxed:

Muy importante!

Well, dinner is still being made presently, but wanted to share something my Wonderful Wife found for me today. Something Iโ€™ve actually been trying to find for quite some time now. โ€ฆ Packages of Big Oleโ€™ Turkey Gizzards! :yum: Only had 3 packs, but at least I know where I might get them at times.

(Bacon for the Win) #1345

What are you going to do with those?
