What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

(I Am The Egg Man ku-ku-kachoo) #783

I stole it from my wife, who likes chili omelettes!

(Eric - The patient needs to be patient!) #784

Get well Dave.

When i look at these photos of keto meals, it doesn’t seems to be dietary food. Why would anyone say that keto is too restrictive if we can actually eat so many good stuff and feel good. And we even have substitutions for almost every unhealthy meal and sometimes this subtitutions are even better than the original meal. I was pizza addict before and i can still have (fathead) pizza now and then even on keto. We can turn so many food from unhealthy to healthy.

Green Chicken Enchilada Soup, perfect on a cold rainy fall day. Super easy to make with Verde Salsa, chicken bone broth, cheddar cheese, and cream cheese blended until smooth, add shredded or chopped cooked chicken, warm (don’t boil), serve. I added cooked cauliflower rice at the end. Garnish as you please!

can this be done in IP ??

Rump steak - 350g, bathed for 24 hours in 54.5C water to achieve the perfect tenderness and flavour - with a blackened half-tomato and pan-fried broccoli and almond slivers. Spice up the rump with some kickin’ Wasabi sour cream paste to improve upon perfection.

An Instant Pot? I guess it could, but wouldn’t know since I don’t own one. I do however have a pressure cooker but don’t use it for making chili because I like a long, slow reduction (flavors come together better that way). If I didn’t have my crock pot, I’d use a heavy pot (like a Dutch Oven) and let it simmer very low with the lid askew, for the better part of the day, stirring occasionally. HTH

Thanks, Eric. Actually feeling much better today. Head still a little stuffy, but seems to be leaving slowly.

(matt ) #791

What head? Geez.

Well, guess I’m testing the tummy out some here, but decided to eat something and also a little early since we’re trying to go to a store this morning. … Had two Scrabbled Eggs with Cheese, two Fried Eggs over some Sausage, and of course, some Bacon. - Pups got some of the Sausage.

Dave is this a OMAD meal or just breaking fast feast? My OMAD meals are not that sufficient. I need to up my game maybe.

#794

Could be either, Eric. But I was actually thinking OMAD myself, since that is usually my go-to on a regular basis. But I do at times eat something like this and just do the same in the evening. … But I think you’re are mentioning this due to the quantity of the meal, correct? - My wife has also brought that up many times as well, saying ā€˜Your meals always look like there is so much more there, then other’s meals posted.’ … This is probably true, since I do mostly do OMAD and make sure I get plenty in for that day. But can also say, that I haven’t seen much in the way of weight hindrance when I eat two meals of this caliber in one day? I honestly just try not to under-eat meals, thinking I might actual get hungry between days/meals. (Which I actually don’t)

But, it’s apparently working. Last Sunday was 22 weeks in this WOE/WOL, and already down 70+ lbs. Later I might have to adjust meals, but I generally just eat till full, and then pups come running for left-overs.

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #795

Get’tur shotgun. Time to go a’ squirrel huntin.

(Allie) #796

I cooked steak chunks in butter and seasoning then sat at my desk to eat them with a pre-cooked chicken leg and thigh left from yesterday. Nothing exciting :joy:

(Sierra McVehil) #797

I will totally post pics of a squirrel dinner the next time I get my hands on some!

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #798

Excellent!

(Ashley) #799

Sounds pretty exciting to me! Yum

(Eric - The patient needs to be patient!) #800

Thanks so much. I’m not eating enough for my OMAD days. I’m inspired now.

(bulkbiker) #801

Breakfast for dinner…!

Not quite carnivore but 100% non plant

(Running from stupidity) #802

Yep. I would dearly love to do 1MAD, but even 2MAD has me struggling to eat enough for the day.

:+1:

Exactly why I keep asking noobs if they’re eating ENOUGH, and have them look at me like I’ve got two heads, or something.
