What can I replace MCT oil with?

#1

Hi everyone,
Just passed the 4 week mark on Keto and am very excited! Getting to the point now where I am trying to tweak a few things. I still get moments of horrible nausea - and I think the cause is the MCT in my BPC. What is a suitable replacement? What will give me the same physiological benefits? Thanks for your wisdom in advance :coffee:

Coconut oil or heavy cream.

Kerrygold or another nice butter.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #4

Real food. Try eating meat, butter, cheese, etc.

I really love my BPC! Plus no time on workdays for a real food breakfast. I use butter and MCT, but think I’ll try butter and coconut oil.
On weekends I’m all about a cheese omelette and bacon :bacon::fried_egg:

Start with a teaspoon of coconut oil and see how your body reacts. Some people discover that CO doesn’t agree with them, if you know what I mean.

If it’s nausea, I’m not entirely sure you can blame the MCT oil per se - it might be that you’ve just reached your body’s fat threshold and it’s trying to tell you NO MORE FAT FOR NOW, THANKS!

When I had problems stomaching MCT (and I’m not alone), it tended to present as stomach/intestinal distress/pain/burning rather than nausea. MCT oil is kind of known for that. I stopped using it for a while, and still don’t have it very often. However, I found that switching brands actually made a big difference - I gave up on the expensive Bulletproof stuff and got another brand (still good quality C8-C10 fractions) and have had absolutely no problems with that one.

But if you’re basically wanting to pimp your BPC, hell, just use cream! :yum:
