yea you do well on pork or have intolerance as is a very real deal for this meat/fat intake. I do fab.
for me it is burger rendered fat that nails me to the wall.

so personal on it what makes us thrives or gets us for sure.
find us in it all and we got it made in the shade!

It’s individual what are the most satisfying things… I usually go with eggs, fatty pork or sour cream but there are many options on keto.

Most fatty things I eat on keto… Pork fat tissue and butter but I don’t eat them alone, it’s with eggs (fried into some nice crispiness and some fat rendered out for my eggs) or with a tiny bit of meat at least  There are huge differences between raw and boiled pork belly, fried bacon but they are all kinda fatty… Some people eat meatless smoked pork fat tissue almost or really alone without a problem but that’s not me. (I snacked on some good lard in the very beginning though  And on butter too.)
Sour cream and heavy cream (whipping here, we don’t have more than 30% fat) are fatty and easy to eat too (if you like them).

But I can overeat fat just using eggs and normal (though fatty) pork cuts like shoulder, I actually do my best to minimize the mentioned things… Unless I have problems with eating enough but that’s something extremely rare in my life.

So it’s very individual. You should choose your beloved items that goes well with your needs  I like pork shoulder roasts but they are a bit too fatty for my energy need under certain (normal in my recent past) conditions. 2 meals? I will overeat. I fancy fatty dairy and lots of eggs on the same day? I will overeat. Some nice, established carnivore-ish OMAD? Shoulders are great. But going a bit leaner suits my calorie/protein need better though there are so many other factors…
And it’s me who is fine with high fat, not everyone is like this. But as my energy need isn’t very high and I usually need high protein for satiation and feeling right, too high fat items aren’t that good unless I pair them up with leaner ones (or use them in moderation)…

Experiment and find your sweet spot  Sometimes it takes a lot of time and people change but it’s you so what works for me or anyone else here may not work for you.

This. :slightly_smiling_face: While it’s not very often, I do shots of olive oil and eat partial sticks of butter. Nice, cool stick of butter…yeah, sometimes it’s not just a ā€˜partial.’

Paul, my Grandma ate this on rye bread or pumpernickel. She would fry me a T-bone and tell me she wasn’t hungry. Then she would dip the bread in the juices and add lard.

I would think a therapist might like to chat with you HAHA
I am so glad I don’t have to suck down butter sticks or shots of olive oil BUT don’t let that fool ya, I got my own damn addiction weirdo issues too

Fangs, it’s really not about ā€œhaving to.ā€ Have you ever eaten a piece of fat, like off the edge of a nice ribeye steak, brisket, prime rib or porkchop, and found it really good? If so, same deal with olive oil and butter - they just taste great.

Butter varies quite a bit in taste - it’s really interesting, and with olive oil there is a vast pantheon of tastes and aromas.

@OldDoug, ohhh you ain’t playing the fun game here LOL joshing around.

ok ok enjoy your olive oil shot and butter stick  I feel ya on that!!

for me if a giant pork butt or giant roaster chicken come out of the oven or off the smoker I attack the fat or skin and rip it off and damn near no one gets that, yea, they are ticked over that but I don’t care  I made me some enemies in this family for sure :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: but I guess no one in your family is worried you are gonna suck down all that butter or oil out of that bottle so I guess they still like you :joy:

I am so lucky my SO prefers leaner meat so I eat the fattier parts  It was not so great only when we bought a super fatty piglet once. I love pork fat to bits but only with enough meat with it… ā€œEnoughā€ has nothing to do with fixed ratios, some fat is lovelier than another so I enjoyed some super fatty pork in my life (I enjoyed the farm-raised piglet too but it really was too fatty for me. and this is after it lost a lot).

Fat alone doesn’t work. Except some butter here and there… It doesn’t satiate me but it tastes great and it’s soft and creamy and everything…

Mmmm, fat. Keeping my fat ā€œlowā€ was maybe the hardest thing since I went low-carb (and I still overate fat). Not eating nearly enough vegs on keto was problematic too but I could solve that somewhat (and went off keto a lot when it got unbearable). I missed fat more often. I am fine now, 11 years later but I still dream about eating much fat… Maybe one day I can do that.
There are serious long term consequences of not subtly overeating for decades.
But I am fine, I never go hungry - just like all my life but I don’t overeat so often now!
