What am I? Lol

I’ve been on this woe for almost 8 weeks. I’ve lost almost 25 lbs. My husband and I watch carbs, cut out all the sweets, bread, pasta rice all that but we dont log anything. Is that lazy keto?

(Michelle) #2

That’s my definition of Lazy Keto! Congratulations on your success!

#3

We used to call that…KETO! When the worlds of calorie counting started to infiltrate this WOE “lazy” keto was born. Not a fan of the term at all. Nothing “lazy” about allowing your body to work correctly and tell you when your hungry and when you’re not.

I consider strict Keto vs lazy Keto the difference between tracking and not tracking. Not necessarily calorie counting, though when you track your macros, you tend to know what your calories are too.

(Ken) #5

Boy, I agree with that. “Lazy” shouldn’t be applied to normal keto, but perhaps “Nutty” or “Anal” describes the other.

(Adam Kirby) #6

Bingo. This is called intuitive eating. “Lazy keto” lets the calorie-obsessed OCDers frame the discussion.

(Janet Smith) #7

I just cant bring myself to log everything. I know I’m eating better I’m feeling better the scale is dropping. Maybe if I came to a stall I would…

(LeeAnn Brooks) #8

Yup, that’s me when it comes to tracking. Anal.

#9

THAT can be a good time to do it, troubleshooting reasons, but for normal weight loss? Typically not needed. I’m tracking now for the opposite purpose, I’m lifting heavy and trying to make sure I’m eating ENOUGH, which I won’t do if I rely on my appetite. I’ll under eat HUGE if I go by my appetite. In any case I stand by what I’ve always said… Tracking SUCKS! It turns something I love (eating) into math class.

(bulkbiker) #10

Sorry but that’s why I love tracking… and data… lurve numbers…

#11

See, that makes me wonder how many share that view on “strict” keto with you. It (used) to be the people doing the typical percentages or the 20g of ACTUAL carbs vs the net crowd would say they were “strict”. Now with so many people doing it so many ways, CKD, TKD, who the hell knows what anybody is saying anymore. I give up. As long as all the factions can agree to worship bacon, nobody has to die.

:bacon::bacon::bacon::fried_egg::cheese::bacon::bacon::bacon:

But full disclosure, I’ve been known to be wrong from time to time.

I was keto for three months - not tracking a thing. Lost a bit of weight. Started tracking yesterday and I am double on my protein. I think it’s good to do a reality check every once in a while.

(Jessica Carranza) #14

Welcome to the lazy keto club!
After nine months on the diet I have finally tried one keto recipe lol I just don’t have the time or the patience, I just figure it all comes out the same way.

(karen) #15

I call it “satiety keto” - gathered knowledge of carb counts, eat from a set of foods that is very low carb, have some awareness of the physical size of protein I want to consume (in other words, I want x grams of protein and that’s about the size of a deck of cards so even if I desire a steak the size of my head I’m not going to eat that very often), and let my body tell me when I’ve had enough. Don’t like the word lazy; this is supposed to be a natural part of my life, not a job!

#16

This is why I’ve been trying to keep it simple. But will look deeper when needed.

(Michelle) #17

I don’t track. I did at the beginning. I do track one day every couple of weeks, usually a sunday when I eat the heaviest. Just like @Regina as a reality check.
