What A Great Bunch of People!

Thank you everyone for being so welcoming, supportive and informative. I have been off and on keto, IF, zero carb, stillman’s (never do that one again!) and I realized something today. I am making everything more difficult than it has to be.

I set impossible goals for myself then feel frustrated when I don’t reach them. Instead, I have to remember to take it slower. As long as I am eating whole foods, as little plants as possible, drinking lots of water and exercising - everything should take care of itself. I want to lose 90 pounds. That might take me 6 months, 9 months, a year or more. More importantly, I want to lose about 30% body fat. Just keep working on it and stop researching!

I research and find out that I am eating too little (not that I keep track of macros or calories) but if I am not hungry, I am not going to eat. I am not going to stuff myself just because someone says I need to eat a certain amount.

I am going to continue to haunt this forum and learn and comment but I am going to try to be less intense about the whole thing. I am going to enjoy life!

Thanks again peeps!

You got this, @bcgrown! :+1:

Keep Calm and Keto On!

#7

LOL!! I shall do that!

I think the best thing I can personally offer is enjoy the process. You have an ultimate goal but in the mean time focus on how you feel. If it helps, put the liar liar scale in the closet!

This way of eating has helped me to balance myself in SO many ways I can’t begin to tell it all. But it gave me peace and a sense of well being. The weight loss was an added bonus. Good luck!

Welcome. It can all get a bit overwhelming sometimes and there are plenty of rabbit holes to fall down. Just take one day at a time and keep pushing forward. Plenty of time to investigate one rabbit hole at a time!

#10

If it helps me get onto a regular sleeping schedule, I would be grateful! I dislike sleeping twelve hours one night then laying awake the next. Putting the scale away doesn’t help - I’ve tried that before/

#11

Thanks Daisy. And ignore a lot of those rabbit holes too!

which one doesn’t help more?
putting the scale away or letting numbers get in your head?
now is not “before”

Welcome!!! You can succeed on this. You have a great strategy to just keep it simple and don’t overthink it. I was totally overthinking/ analyzing / engineering this in the beginning. I learned to sit back and just KCKO. Has really helped me with this WOE.

+1

I often do that too! I have dreadful sleeping patterns. The thing that has come closest to sorting it out is my counselling and physical work. Keto certainly helps me stay awake during the day as I used to sleep a lot when I was on carbs. I guess it depends what is at the root of the crappy sleep patterns as to what will help sort them out.

#16

why should i eat more? If I am not hungry, I am not going to stuff myself and feel ill. That’s what I think is the healthiest way to do it, don’t you?

#17

Thank you.

#18

actually I am more interested in what the measuring tape shows and how my body reconfigured itself.

(eat more) #19

the “eat more” isn’t for you specifically…it’s like a signature

Sorry Mikki, I apologize.
