Hi all - I’ve been listening to the 2 Keto dudes since June of 2017 and I first would like thank Carl and Richard for offering such a well researched resource that is fun to listen to.
My story is fairly common - I was an athlete all my life and found myself slow gaining weight even though I worked out 4-5 times a week. It was when I upped my work outs to every day with no results that I began looking deeper into what could be causing me to NOT to make progress.
I’ve tried many diets but with the help of the 2 Keto Dudes I committed to doing the Ketogenic diet because I really had nothing to lose and the logic behind the science made sense.
I am 40 year old that is 5’ 9" and started at 197 lbs with 21% body fat - as of March 2018 I am down to 40lbs to 157lbs and anywhere between 13%-14% body fat. The goal by my 1 year ketoversary is to be down 50lbs.
Aside from the obvious weight loss benefits, what I love about Keto is a) The food b) having energy all day without dips c) sleeping better d) tastes and smells are enhanced .
Craving-wise - the only thing that sometimes spikes is for fruit - otherwise I don’t feel deprived at all.
One interesting wrinkle is that I never took a formal ‘before’ picture - maybe because i didn’t have faith in diets being sustainable (shame on me). For anyone that is thinking about starting - Keto will get you results - have faith and document your journey for those who will use your story as inspiration.
