Weight Watchers stock hit hard by falling earnings

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that carbohydrates make up 45 to 65 percent of your total daily calories. So, if you get 2,000 calories a day, between 900 and 1,300 calories should be from carbohydrates. That translates to between 225 and 325 grams of carbohydrates a day.

The WW macros are SAD-lite.

The unfortunate thing is that, until the ADA, doctors, dieticians, etc, get on board with keto, it’ll still come across to many as a dangerous fad. I remember hearing about Adkins, and then later, keto, but I only heard warnings about it. It wasn’t until watching a different video last year and then getting into the research that I realized it wasn’t harmful.
So despite all of her money, she’s been trying to lose weight the “recommended” way. As keto gains popularity, maybe she’ll be on board next.

There is a metric craptonne of truth in that sentence.

(Jane) #84

She was also very negative about weight-loss surgery, wasn’t she?

Just going by hearsay as I’ve never seen one of her shows unless it’s blaring in a doctor’s office waiting room.

Never forget:

Oprah:
Brought us Dr. Oz.
And
Was sued by Texas Cattlemen for defamation.

She is not welcome in ketoland for her embrace of Oz’s quackery and her embrace of a vegan pushing mad cow anxiety (which brought Dr. Phil into Oprah’s orbit… he was her jury consultant on the libel suit).

Hee, hee!

(Marianne) #87

Other physicians and the ADA absolutely destroyed Dr. Atkins. They made the poor guy out to be a quack and like he was doing a grave disservice to the public.

(Stickin' with mammoth) #88

Impressed with your European spelling of crap-ton.

(Bunny) #89

My opinion

Science is key!

(Bunny) #90

Yes mam absolutely?

Again science is key?

There is a matter of not wanting to understand logic or it is a matter of emotion?

I choose science and leave the emotions for the ones that like to dwell or wallow in ignorance!

That’s a confusing chart - because it says 56 in the carbohydrate column for WW - but then in red to the right of the chart it says 203 grams?

(Bunny) #92

I would echo (below*) what Dr. Attia had to say in his review about different diets like the consumer reports article and the chart (with those mysterious carbohydrate allowances) in which he himself is hard pressed to admit the correlations and causation because I think he fears being censored by peers? And who wants the Corn Growers Association and Sugar Cane & Beet Sugar INDUSTRIES up in their face (clandestine) 24/7?

Carbohydrate intake DOES NOT MATTER!

*It is the reduction of highly refined carbohydrates and refined sugars like sucrose and fructose (HFCS)? (i.e. a classification of a type of substance or compound)

If we were not intended to eat carbohydrates then why is the first thing secreted by the salivary glands amylase? (probably for digesting raw starches and natural sugars)

I have a lot more to say about this but will save for a later time!

What the…?

Is there a bigger scam out there than “jury consultant”?

Also, being able to pick juries is, in itself, criminal.

Seeing too many veiled (and not so veiled) personal attacks on this thread.

Play nice, or the thread will be locked. Disagree without being disagreeable. Rebut ideas with other ideas, not insults.

(Ketoviking) #101

Does this not mean the diet industry / food industry will just turn their sights on the KETO cult? Costs of Chicken thighs will sky rocket, MCT oil will become a currency in itself. Should we not keep KETO secret? First rule of KETO, Don’t talk about KETO!

(G. Andrew Duthie) #102

I know you’re joking, but the opposite would be true. Keep in mind that the SAD is cheap because it’s popular (and vice-versa…self-reinforcing). If keto goes fully mainstream, economies of scale will help make keto staples cheaper, something we should all want.

(Jane) #103

Ok. Well you should consume 200 g unrefined carbs for a month and report back your results!

#forscience

And for science you will also need to limit your calories to the WW levels in the article and also report back on your hunger levels.

I won’t argue whether this is LC or not, but it is not ketogenic.
