Week 5 and Cheated all day

So I have been doing keto 5 weeks now and was not fat adapted. I have been counting macros and exercising, but still not fat adapted. I cheated big time yesterday for first time with candy and sugar and carbs and really really bad. My question is did I set myself back 4 weeks or prolong getting fat adapted . Anybody do the same as I did and become fat adapted shortly after? Thanks

Not to encourage cheating but that 5 weeks on keto before the cheat, improved your health! NO harm done! It is more about being consistent and disciplined long-term (for-life) about why your doing what your doing and the science behind it!

I never sit their and dwell on and dread eating anything I want on special occasions, or eating out occasionally or junky food at home… I just don’t make a consistent habit of it, it is really really easy to lose grip on this unfamiliar way of eating to the point where it just becomes a distant memory (no immediate support) because external things like the types of food within reach are so abundant and readily available that WILL POWER just succumbs (bedazzled) to and reciprocates the external stimulus…lol

This is not an “all or nothing” process but a WOE. So to use a old quote “don’t throw the baby out with the bath water” :rofl:. Just because there is a change in plan doesn’t mean you don’t keep pointed towards your overall goal - better health. Nothing is ever completely undone because at a minimum, you have the learning experience. Reflection is what is useful now - but use it for good to help grow your understanding.

You set yourself back, but more like a couple days. The fact that you went that far off the wagon after 5 weeks though is concerning, were you craving eating like crap? Or just did it to do it?
