Week 3 and stalling weight? HELP:(

#1

Hey keto friends! I began my journey August 2, 2018 at a starting weight of 220 pounds, I’m a female height 5’5 age 26 so I have a lot of losing to do. I actually never gained this much EVER in my life, last year this time i was 150, so i can admit that I ate a lot of junk food and crap :(. However, i love the keto! I feel more energized and my skin feels amazing! I lost a total of 12 pounds the first two weeks which i know is “water weight” but now on weeks 3 I’m stalling at 208!!! help!!! am I just overthinking it? is this suppose to be normal? I eat everything on the dot, i try not to eat after 7:30 depending on what time i get back from school. I make my own keto food and follow the keto book “Simply Keto” by Suzanne Ryan, which i highly recommend. I watch my crabs and don’t eat over 20g net carbs a day. I watch my fat and protein but not as strictly as the carbs! I even take MCT oil and try to incorporate all good fats!

i just need to know why am i stalling? I do urine tests and I’m in ketosis for sure, its just been almost a week and i haven’t lost another pound yet… if any of you keto friends could give me some truthful advice i would highly appreciate it!
Thank you!

This is normal. Some of us have been many months with no weight loss. The initial loss was what you started. Mostly water. Maybe a pound or so but pretty much water. I wouldn’t count this as a stall, I’d count it as you haven’t started yet, at 3 weeks in. We could go into your macros and such but at this point you should probably just KCKO and stay away from the scale. The body drops weight when it wants. Once you are at a healthy spot, it will happen.

thank you for your reply keto friend! I just freaked out because i was expecting faster weight loss since i am obese. i am for sure not quitting this diet because i absolutely love the way it makes me feel each day. I just have so much weight i want to lose that a stall freaks me out. ill keep on going through and see the results hopefully! if this is normal then that will definitely calm me down

So glad I found this. Parallel situation ( similar age and weight and start date) except that in 2 weeks I lost 18 lbs and on Week 3 I GAINED back 4lbs. Its discouraging that the scale isn’t moving but I guess eating this way is still better than giving up.

If your sleep is good and your BG is normal/low then it maybe time to do IF/EF

hey nanikitty! so i totally understand your frustration, after two weeks my weight loss stalled and i basically cut on calories to see if it made it difference and it did! if you see you’re full don’t eat more! i now only eat once a day and see I’m full! listen to your body! but now I’m losing a pound a week which i suppose is the healthy route!
