Was told i am a bad example!

Looking at his table…from the looks of it he was eating a “heart healthy” subway sandwich paired with American Heart Association approved Sunchips. lol.

I enjoy talking to doctors. Their heads tend to spin around and burst into flame when I point out they are at least 30 years behind nutritional science. Especially when I infer that their lack of current knowledge might mean the advice they are giving is now unethical.

Perhaps not the right approach if you work with them daily.

(BuckRimfire) #23

Do you do endurance events? You should challenge him and his “healthy” diet to a five hour trail run or similar WITHOUT FOOD. Pure water and salts only, zero calories of refeeding.

(BuckRimfire) #24

Blortch!

(April Harkness) #25

no, I might look like an endurance runner…but I actually am a lifter.

I would definately challenge this man to a lifting event. Looking at his body, I could outlift him. Easy. https://youtu.be/U5b6rNI1vcw

(K-9 Handler/Trainer, PSD/EP Specialist, Veteran) #26

I would have told him to fuck off. It’s in my nature to give an arrogant asshole disrespect right back.
Hand him his balls after you kick his ass lifting, April.

Take pics.

(Doug) #27

:+1::sunglasses: Right on, DK. I was thinking along those lines too. "Oh, bad example, huh? Well hey, you ******* Jacka$$…’

(BuckRimfire) #28

LOL!

System wants a complete sentence, so here it is.

(Susan) #29

Did you say anything to him at all? You have a lot more self-control then most of us if you didn’t. I would have definitely have been Keto-preachy at him if I was you; being as awesome fit and healthy as you are…hopefully you never have to see him again. Or, write down your youtube channel for him and say -watch this buddy… hehe.

(BuckRimfire) #30

Nice!

I could deadlift that weight. That’s about it.

No doubt that douche thinks all of THAT is fine!

In my slightly rounder days I used to DEMOLISH Au Bon Pain’s bakery section, those were the days.

(Trudy) #32

I had a work colleague state “All that fat cant be good for you” while she was eating a McDonalds meal  I was at a loss for words…

(Cristian Lopez) #33

That looks like a lovely hyper carnivore meal!
I may suggest “suggest” “SUGGEST” (making sure everyone takes into account its just a suggestion) you reevaluate the composition of your meal…

In the sense, you could improve in the sourcing of your food?

  • Conventional chicken has a very high omega 6 ratios, along with that, it looks like a store-bought rotisserie chicken may contain carrageenan, modified corn starch, soybean oil, or added nitrates.
-conventional eggs contain a lot of the soy flavonoids transferred through there low-quality feed along with high omega 6 ratios
-conventional pork same issue, even worse because hell knows what the pigs eat but toxins are biologically stored in fat tissue of all animals
-conventional dairy contains high concentrations of rbst, hormones, or again very low-quality omega 6 ratios.

The big take away here I suggest

  • de-skinning the chicken and bringing an avocado or pastured animal fat to substitute ketogenic fat ratios
  • opting for higher quality sausage
  • getting omega 3 enriched eggs or pasture-raised/organic eggs
  • using raw dairy in your omelet, maybe even goat/sheeps cheese for the less inflammatory A2 casein content it has.
-possibly adding some beef heart, liver, or marrow to your meal
  • adding some omega 3 sources (grass-fed tallow, sardines, oily fish)
-eat the bones! good source of glycine and collagen

I won’t argue against stubbs as they hold a very dear place in my heart and I dont really care about a little sucralose from a sugar-free sauce tbh.
Just some tips from yours truly @paleo.cris on Instagram / @KidKeto
Keep doing what you’re doing! I am a paleo/keto lifter similar to you with the mission of improving/maintaining health & strength!

I actually eat sardines almost every day…so u are talking to the choir here ( look at my past posts of my fav meals)and i dont eat the above everyday. I had a craving. I ate a rotisserie chicken.

(Michael - When reality fails to meet expectations, the problem is not reality.) #35

I don’t like sardines much. But I sure like these and eat them pretty much every day! I marinate them for a few minutes in lemon juice and pepper. Brunswick makes another with lemon and pepper, but it has a gram of carb.

(Cristian Lopez) #36

Yummy I love sardines alot! I only get them in water though. :sweat_drops:

(Bob M) #37

You realize that avocado is also high in linoleic acid, correct? You’ve substituted one high O6 meal for another. Plus, avocado is a plant. Plants are bad.

(Deborah ) #38

Ahh, the arrogance of the ignorant.

(Cristian Lopez) #39

Well I can clearly tell your a carnivore advocate while I am a omnivore advocate. We both can agree that a diet should consist mainly on high quality, nutrient dense, animal foods. Based on my beliefs on a human diet, humans ate what was available given the situation they were in. Some carnivore, Some sadly and tragically mostly plant based, and some omnivorous. I think all food has it down sides. Yes I keep in mind oxolates, I avoid grains to death, phytic acid is bad, but I do things to negate these effects. Im very sure that an “avacado” isn’t nearly as bad as what most people consume from the plant kingdom today! ( and yes I know an avacado is super cultivated, But so is your meat and eggs) Gotta work with what you got. Speaking about avocados…

the chicken fat is higher in pufas my friend, specifically linoliec acid, and thats not considering its a costco chicken so… get your facts straight

I think everyone on this forum can tell you avacado fat is much superior to that of a conventional chicken.

Also your really really vague argument, “plants are bad” so “Avocados are bad” because of there small amount of omega 6 is no better than the american heart association saying meat is bad.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #40

I hope you thanked him properly!
