Wake up call

Couldn’t sleep last nite …so added up all the carbs I used to eat in a day. Stopped counting at 500… Wow .I started keto after a type 2 diagnosis 3 weeks ago and 6 months battling depression. My body is real pissed at me right now.I’v lost 15 lbs and 4 inches from my waist, still no appetite and bad sleep.Probably from the depression.test six are moderate so I am probably in ketosis.Anyone know approximately how long it will take for my body to heal itself? Depression meds haven’t kicked in yet I’m hoping my appetite will return soon.

There really isn’t a good way to know how long it will take for your body to heal. Keep doing what you are doing, and keep up on those electrolytes! Are the depression meds new? I kntow it can take a while for them to regulate things in your brain. If its been that long then maybe chat with your doctor about trying something else.

Hang in there!

The meds aren’t new.I switched to CBD oil to control it and waited too long to give up on it.I am working with my psychiatrist to recover. It takes about 8 weeks for them to be fully effective. It’s hereditary. I should have known better.

Don’t be so hard on yourself for past mistakes you may have made; we all have some of those in our lives. Just move forward and remember that we are all here to support you on the forum, Shona =).

We have all made errors in our past with food that we wished we hadn’t done, but now Keto can heal our bodies, and our minds too. There are several people here on the forum that have found Keto has profoundly helped their depression and anxiety. I know that everything can take a while adjusting, but I think if you can be patient, that your body will adjust =). I wish you all the best and if you just try and keep your carbs at 20net grams or less, no sugar, eat adequate proteins and healthy fats, drink enough water and electrolytes, before too long you should be sleeping better and feeling healthier.
