Vintage Cast Iron Identification Help

(Sophie) #1

I have several pieces that I have re-seasoned this week and wondered if anyone can help me identify them.
The Chicken Fryer has 2 L marks (one on the bottom and one on the underside of the handle). I suspect it’s prior to 1960 because it doesn’t have Made in the USA on it. Can it be an unmarked Griswold?
The Griddle mark turned out to be 8LS and it has the very desirable Gate Mark, so I know it’s an old one.
The tiny skillet has no marks but I still love it.
The Corn Bread pan has no marks on the bottom and it wasn’t until I cleaned it that I saw an X on one of the handles, on the front near the hole. I also suspect it may be an unmarked Griswold.

If you have any info. or sites, it’d be greatly appreciated. I can’t seem to get anywhere in my search. TIA!

The best cast-iron collector site I know of can be found here. Happy hunting…
