Very new some advice?

First off let me point out, about 3 weeks before deciding to go keto I was eating low carb…30 to 50 grams of carbs a day lots of protein (about 100 grams or more some days a bit less) and the rest fat. It’s been about a week now that I’ve restricted carbs to 15-20 grams of carbs a day.
Now I weight lift everyday at the gym 5 days a week. I’m 5’2 and 120lbs and would like to not lose any weight. Problem is, I can’t eat. I feel completely drained of energy and the last day or two I can’t eat anything without feeling nauseous, I just don’t want it… I am very worried about my weight. I’m having trouble keeping down 600 calories a day let alone enough to weight lift, jog, and maintain my weight.
last night my brother came back from the army for a few days and I did have a margarita with him. I know that is very bad as it was from a Mexican restaurant and probably loaded with carbs. But even after I still have no appetite. I just want some tips. Any advice would be great. ( by the way no more margaritas for me, I felt sick after that as well)

Stop stressing your body with so much exercise and give it a chance to get used to its new fuel.

I did all this exercise way before, so I should stop? I mean I haven’t been worth much in the gym anyway lately with so little energy haha. But I guess I probably should stop at least until I get my appetite back…

Are you getting enough electrolytes? And I don’t mean the salt from the margarita glass lol.

Plenty of electrolytes, get protein where you can, shakes are usually easy to drink whether or not you are hungry, add some heavy cream and fatten it up. For the first few weeks you may lose a little but plan on doing way less in the gym for the first few weeks and then you should be back to normal. There is usually a phase at the beginning where you are not hungry and can’t lift anything, it goes away.

Also, electrolytes, that needs to be there first.

Well at this point I’m probably not as I don’t want to eat, however most of the time I drink smart water and have a lot of beverages with them in it.

Thank you I have definitely noticed my performance on the gym drop haha. Do you have any good Shake recipes?

I have some low carb stuff called Promasil (this chocolate is awesome!), I put in a couple tablespoons of cream, then 1 or 2 scoops of protein depending on how much I need for the day (if i’m eating eggs and bacon and sausage for dinner then 1, 2 if it is a light meal) and fill the rest with almond/coconut/cashew milk which helps it taste better than using water. You can get all the protein you need in 2 shakes.

You have to give your body time to get used to what you’re asking it to do and that can’t happen while you’re putting it under constant stress. Could even be nothing at all to do with keto, just could be that you’ve been over-training and your body is screaming at you to give it a break…

Like others have said, the first goal of going keto is fat adaption. This is the MAIN goal when first starting out. Don’t worry about exercise or calorie restriction until you get there. It took 8 weeks for me. Continuing to exercise while starting out is like driving your car and, in mid-drive without stopping, you try switching from gas to diesel. It is SO much harder to do than if you just stopped, make changes to the car, then go again.

After you become fat adapted, then all the neat tricks of calorie restriction, like fasting, and exercise come into play. So yes, stop the workouts, and eat fat to satiety until you feel your body tells you that it wants to burn energy again.

I didn’t have an appetite until eight weeks in. And could barely go for a stroll. Now I’m at week nine and everything is good again.
