I work for a local health food store. I just found out we are having a BIG vegan/vegetarian festival on Saturday
…I am so relieved I don’t work on Saturdays!! No one there knows I am Ketogenic. I often hear co-workers saying how “unhealthy Keto is”. I just keep my mouth shut and carry on!
Vegan Day!?!?
Yeah, vegan keto is extreme even for me (not like they wouldn’t do the “normal”, carby version, of course)… And I went super close to having vegetarian carnivore days but those aren’t that extreme…
But vegetarian keto was easy except I missed my vegs but raw vegan recipes helped
But even if there are carby things too, just being there… I would be quite fine. Or is it a requirement to eat the stuff or praise it with a smile? I see the problems with that.
You have weird coworkers but I am clearly biased. I NEED very low-carb for optimal health and well-being. And never was closed-minded if it was about how one should eat. There are a few requirements, some clearly bad or unnecessary things but “keto is bad” is so very stupid… I don’t even consider super high-carb bad. It surely suits some people. Just not very many. And it matters what kind of woe is that, there are many factors.
I rarely discuss my diet with anyone, but on the rare occasion I hear keto being bashed, I tend to chip in with something along the lines of “yes, I’m a perfect advert for how unhealthy it is”
Shortstuff Can I use that?
A perfect response. Although it would probably work better after I fix this pesky knee
yea I would not tackle that…you have to work around it, no use getting jumped on every day if you state out your point on it all. wouldn’t be worth it.
can ya imagine what they would do to me…being carnivore. 1 lunch out with any coworkers and bam, when a honkin’ giant Tbone hits my table on a plate in front of me, they would freak I would think HA
One day a 20 something co-worker commented on how beautiful the asparagus looked and I said “it would look even better with bacon wrapped around it!” Boy, the look I got!!
ohh ya let one slip HAHA
can’t imagine how I would bite my tongue on my comments, but seems you are doing ok on it all, lol
around me a little bunch of asparagus is the damn price of a good ol’ steak darn near…that stuff is high priced. I know it is alot of years for a good harvest but darn ya know
it is not a cheap veggie by any means…yikes.
oh never a fan so I never went there but darn if it ain’t pricey. plus most times I tried it a few, it was never cooked right…over burnt or literally raw so maybe if cooked right? no idea, but I sure know it won’t ever be on my menu in my entire life again.
I never checked asparagus cause I never ate it, very rare. For all my FEW veggies I did eat but didn’t do well on I researched the ‘bad and why’ to them for allergic and toxin content and more and found big reasons why they set so wrong with me but now ya got me curious on asparagus. Did ya ever research it a bit to see what it did to you and why?
Allie, I work for a local health food store. I am a supplement/herb specialist. Is that what H&B means?
I did the fastest check on why asparagus is bad and darn the amt of reasons not to eat this is big, lol
didn’t even research the species of the plant and toxins yet but I bet it ain’t a good one
Sometimes I daydream about ordering a steak and when asked what I want with it, I say another one (but nope, I want eggs and bacon with it as a decent person with a balanced diet).
I tried asparagus a few times in my life (I bought it canned)… Nice texture but it’s mostly a too tasteless overpriced stuff that makes me hungry (okay, nope, not even that as it has too little calories)… And it’s my opinion before carnivore. Now I look at my old favs and convert it into meat and poor things just can’t win
(Except the used-as-spice things I kept like onion in my stews. But onion is cheap anyway and I use very, very little.)
Well I already knew inulin was an issue for me so kinda went right for it and found asparagus contains a fair amount, stopped digging after that.
huh, LOL
I ain’t decent I guess?? Not sure on your comment but a second steak to a first steak is never a bad thing
