Vacation is over

We had our yearly birthday get-together in Philadelphia. Although we did not go horribly nuts, we did have bites here and there of non-keto foods. Fortunately, I was well behaved enough, drank enough water, and walked a ton, so I only gained 3 pounds. For vacation, that’s not too shabby. (I was at the Hershey Spa for a day and did not eat a pound of chocolate! THAT was nothing short of a miracle. I allowed myself 1 dark chocolate (which was ick) and 1 milk chocolate.)

That being said, my husband and I came to a realization…the foods we did have bites of were not near as good as we had once thought they were. With the exception of this one roll, none of it was really ‘worth it’. So it was a good experiment, since we learned something.

We’ve decided to go closer to zero carb, for a while. After 3 months of being very low-carb Keto, my blood sugars were really good, but the weight was not budging. So we are going to finish the foods we have (veggies) and then we are going to try just eating meat and fat for a bit.

I’m not panicking or anything, I realize that sometimes a person’s body needs time to adjust, so I thought I would play around with it.

On another note, I’ve noticed several of you hanging out in some of the groups I frequent. It always makes me smile to see you guys post, @Brenda, @Marty_Kendall et al.

I’m going to give zero carb a go as well. It fits my life at the moment and I’m just curious to see how it will play out. I’ve gotten to where I just don’t care much for veggies any more and I’m sick of tracking everything! I just want to eat meat and drink water for a little while!
