Ultra-processed meat kills! [Well, sorta' kinda' - maybe not so much...]

You’re right, as a survey it’s useless. But your diet would simply result in your survey being thrown out anyway. Just tell them you eat beef 24-7 and don’t bother with the rest of it. I ran through the whole thing, and even the most generous keto diet would exclude more than 70 items. - not the meat, but more or less every other thing they list in great detail - the packaged bread-products, cereals, fruits and sweet snacks alone came to 78 items that wouldn’t fit with keto. Even the part of the survey you posted here - theoretically the good stuff - includes five items I wouldn’t check off because they assume the item is breaded, served on bread / a bun, or with carb sides.

I also notice there’s no portion size for a number of these things, so even if you had an actual food diary in front of you, there’s a big difference, to me, between a 2" square of lasagna as a side treat every two weeks, and an 8" square of it as a huge full meal.

Interesting that we can exclude “PAM type spray” from our sauteeing fats. So the most processed nightmare food of all, even if we use it liberally and every day, doesn’t count.

Even the most conservative among us don’t count; I’m surprised they don’t value adjust backward for the carnivores. :rofl:

Great insights. Time to move this thread to the Show Me The Garbage category … {done}

And yet they keep happening. It’s almost as if “they” want/need these type of studies to keep the FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt) going.

Most people can only tolerate so much Noise before they cannot see the signals. because it requires EITHER a strong bias to ignore the noise (and know what is noise), or a DEEP understanding of the subject to determine what is Signal and what is Noise.

Our modern media (and specialization) takes advantage of this.
Making my philosophy this:
If it’s a headline, it’s probably wrong
If you haven’t checked the source of the story, assume it doesn’t say what the story says.
And if EVERYBODY “knows” or EVERY source is screaming the same thing… So much that you cannot question it. You are being manipulated. If you can’t question something, it’s a Religion, not science.
