So does anybody use normal table salt anymore, or does everybody use pink Himalayan, and sea salt. I prefer the fine table salt, but not sure if I’m suppose to.
Type of salt?
Use what you like to use. There are no hard and fast rules.
Sea salt has the benefit of micronutrients included (like zinc, magnesium, manganese, etc). So you get extra electrolytes and minerals that way.
Same with Himalayan salt. With the difference that it is a mined mineral from Pakistan.
I just keep a rotation of Lo/lite salt, celtic, himalayan and malton smoked to cover all the bases. But my latest favorite is Bamboo Salt. Its salt heating in bamboo shoots 8 times and apparently is loaded with minerals from the bamboo. Havent seen actual proof but its fine and tastes nice, so happy that department.
I have pink salt and Real Salt. I want to try other fancy salts. The Real Salt is my favorite for using on the whole roast chicken or for making sauerkraut
It is expensive, but when I do some fancy stuff I love Fleur de Sel salt. Friend didn’t think I could tell the difference but I proved him wrong! Tastes like it is straight from the ocean…because it is.
I find the Himalayan less harsh than other salts. I can get the Fleur de Sel easily here (France) and it is great but still harsh compared to pink. But you can use what you want! I also got the pink cheap - not sure I would pay a load for it.
