Tying my shoes

(Karl L) #1

I don’t know when it happened, but this morning I realized I could tie my shoes with them flat on the floor! I used to always do it with my legs crossed to avoid becoming red-faced.

You’ll know you’ve arrived when you can clip your toenails and breathe at the same time!

Congrats!

I was telling somebody the other day that the way to tell if someone has ever been heavy, for long, is to ask them to tie there shoes, stop them in the middle of tying, and ask them if they are holding their breath. I find that no matter how much weight I lose, I still hold my breath while tying my shoes unless I make a conscious effort to breath

In my heaviest powerlifting days I used to have to take a big breath like I was doing a lift, drop down, tie one shoe and then come up for another big breath for the other. I was just reflecting on this the other day as I tied both shoes in one shot while breathing. Amazing what we can take for granted.

Congrats!

Yup, and I think I recall Dave Tate mentioning this as part of a list of things big dudes uniquely enjoy (big chicks too for the most part at least).

EDIT: Here.
