Two unrelated questions lol!

So today is day 4 of Keto!! Yay  I have loads of energy and I’m super excited! im not hungry today!? I had bacon this morning with my coffe around 7 and it’s now almost noon and still not hungry :)!! I notice today my urine smells strongly sorry TMI… I’m drinking fluids and it’s close to clear? Not sure what that’s all about :)! Second question is in two months I’ll be on my honeymoon at an all inclusive … wondering if I should plan on being all Keto while there or not? What do you guys think ? Anyone in similar situation?

Thanks!

yeah!! Day 4 of keto. you go girl. I would say for trips and vacations, stay keto. Keto is more of a way of life than a short term diet.

Fat is satiating, and metabolically it takes more process for your body to break down, which may be why you are still not hungry. No worry, just eat when you are hungry.

First, congrats on choosing keto
Don’t worry to much about smells and the like. A lot of changes will happen. I found that the lack of carbs makes the things you eat smell much stronger when eliminated (wait til you eat asparagus).

My suggestion is be keto all the time, there are ways around almost everything carby. Ultimately it is up to you.

Obviously it’s better to be Keto all the time; a lot of people recommend staying keto but being indulgent during celebrations : eat steaks with too much butter, go hog-wild on crazy savory food. Especially this early on it’ll be better in the long run to stick with it.

That being said, my wife and I do not eat keto at Christmas dinner and a couple other big events and while it feels a little gross and can take a few days to get back in the zone it’s not killing us and we’re continuing to lose weight and be healthy. Your mileage will definitely vary with this though as some people find themselves in a spiral into old habits if they stray from the path, and the “reverse keto flu (Gluco-flu?)” knocks some people down harder than others. So ultimately it’s your decision and you should figure out what works for you.
Congrats on the wedding!

It’s totally up to you of what you will eat. But think about why you are doing this! Remember how you feel now v/s before, do you want to feel bad or risk a sluggish carb reaction on your honeymoon!
Plus if you will have more time to enjoy your Honeymoon! Spend less time thinking about eating!
Congrats on your upcoming nuptials!

Oh yes, the smells. Lol. It will get better as your body becomes more efficient at using ketones.

My suggestion for the all inclusive: stay Keto! It will probably be pretty easy to find tons of on plan food. I honestly think an all inclusive resort or a cruise would be the easiest vacation to stay on plan, as far as food options go. When we were in the Dominican Republic there were so many options for fabulous food, and while we had not discovered Keto at that point looking back it would have been so easy to eat low carb.

Alcoholic beverages are going to be the thing to ponder. If you do drink figure out a couple things you could order. Gin and club soda with lime is a favorite of mine. Or rum and diet soda.

Pungent breath, urine, and body odor are all signs of ketone production. You’re on the right track! As said above, this effect should lessen as your cells gets better at using those ketones. Until then, some will be spilling out into the world.

Weird smells are quite normal, especially early days!

Do try and stay keto - it is so much better for you and you want to feel great. Carbing up could make you feel awful which is the last thing you want. There should be plenty of choice available for food? You really want to be on form energy and mood wise I would think?

Hey there! I too am heading to an all inclusive soon and fully intend on sticking keto. Having been to many all inclusives I can say that you should have no trouble sticking to eating keto. There is a but… Alcohol will be touchy when eating keto. Please take peek in the alcohol senction. A thread was started just a few days ago with some good info which can serve as a jumping off point for additional reading. You’re going to want to be prepared. I assume you’ll be tropical, maybe consider a lovely frozen tropical drink perfect for those kind of vacations to counteract the side effects of alcohol on keto.
