Tried Five Guys' burger bowl for the first time

#1

Honestly was not bad at all. I ordered online and set the order to “ASAP” so that it would be ready for pick up in 7 minutes so there was no waiting.\

I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger, selected the no bun (burger bowl) option, extra mushrooms, extra cheese, and an extra patty for +$2.

My order came out to $11.98. In the aluminum bowl, there were 4 cheeseburger patties with a generous amount of cheese, probably around 3-5 slices of bacon, and a nice portion of grilled mushrooms. (They have plenty of other sides you can choose from for free too)

If you’re looking for a keto friendly place to to grab food, give Five guys’ burger bowl a shot! Definitely tastier and higher quality than ordering a bunch of patties from Mcdonald’s etc drive thru.

No picture? :worried:

I didn’t bother to take a picture because I was at work and I get almost no signal. I may go to another Five Guys tomorrow! I’ll upload pics then

The burger’s look hand made and don’t have that processed look to them. The next time I’m on the other side of town, I might give this a try.

They are very accommodating, except that their French fries are far too tasty, and they won’t disimprove them.

That’s good. Our word here is unprovement. Usually it is in the middle of a rant about technology.

Looks good. I just searched it and learned we actually have one of these nearby. Didn’t even know. :+1:

I thought these (with cheese, bacon, mushrooms) were great - and addictive.
I am lucky there isn’t one too close to where I live.

Wrap or bowl, the burgers are great. I enjoy them.

It’s the French fries, however, that are addictive!!!

I just saw one the other day. I am going tomorrow!

I’ve got a Five Guys near me. This is a game changer.

Yep - I had eaten at Five Guys years ago - I thought they gave you way too much food (especially the fries) so it was not one of my favorites.

A few months ago, about 8 weeks into keto, I was sitting for a few hours in an airport between flights, which had a Five Guys there. I was eyeing the menu, figuring I could just get a burger and toss the bun, when I spotted their bunless (lettuce-wrapped) option.

So I got a bacon cheeseburger (which is 2 patties), with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, green peppers, and mayo in the lettuce wrap. You have to eat it with a (plastic) knife and fork or else you’ll wear it, but it was really good, and around 860 calories total, making it a full meal.

Not bad, compared to the 1300 primarily carb calories you save by skipping the bun (240) and fries (1060).

There are a few in my home town, and I stop in occasionally when I need fast food.

I can adjust the quantity by choosing the small variety (1 patty), or skipping the bacon, or both. Still a good quick burger.

Thanks for posting! There is a Five Guys about 45 minutes from our house in a town we don’t get to that often. But… if we happen to be out that way, I think we may need to stop in.

Their burger is all hand made from fresh beef. I was not aware they had burger bowls but I have loved everything I got there before. Sadly the fries and massive amounts of peanuts are out the door these days LOL. I can definitely seeing getting a bowl though!

That is the problem with so many places when it comes to bunless. McD’s is that way (although it is nice they present it differently) and the same was true with Wendy’s. Carl’s Jr. is one of the best in that regard for fast food bunless as they use plenty of lettuce and wrap it in the extra paper just like they do if it were with a bun. For a little higher up, Red Robin does a pretty good job on bunless.

My vote is still for the double Flying Dutchman from in-n-out burgers

Yep that sounds delicious. We have one about 10 minutes from our house. That will be happening this weekend

5 Guys is one of the few easy keto options by my work, so I go there pretty often when I neglect to bring food. Usually go for the bacon cheeseburger as well with extra cheese and hot sauce. I keep a jar of kimchi at work to go with it.

@Regina
There’s one right off the 15/Limonite
East side of the 15
Next to Denny’s
:ok_hand:
