Treating cancer with a ketogenic diet

I am a huge fan of the podcast. I have a step brother with a brain tumor. I just listened to this podcast: http://2ketodudes.com/show.aspx?episode=68

I live overseas so I don’t know him well. He looks fit and healthy, not overweight or anything but had a heart attack also last year, so maybe his diet is not great. I hate to feel judgmental when my own diet is not great, but when I met him for the first time in 5 years at Christmas last year, he was talking about how he would always stop off to buy a slurpee at 7-11.

My family is fairly traditional in diets and thinking. If a doctor says this or that then they will follow what the doctor says. I probably sound like a crackpot to them if I start talking about ketogenic/high fat diets.

My step brother lives in Melbourne, Australia so I was wondering if there are any medical professionals who he might be able to speak to, to get help.

I did a Google search and found this place: https://www.oxymed.com.au/cancer-support

Not sure about that but when I recently started tracking my GKI (glucose-ketone index), I found that it is also used for cancer treatment.

I would direct him to http://www.elainecantin.com/, as the Cantin diet is a form of the Ketogenic diet targeted at cancer patients. It’s not an expensive resource, and he might find it helpful.

This might also allow you to gauge his interest in the topic.
