Transition to Carnivore

How can I transition to the carnivore diet?

Eat meat until you’re full, salt if you want, and be strict. If you get a craving for something else, eat meat. Prepping work lunches and other meals ahead of time is very helpful.

I’ve been Keto since last November. I didnt eat a lot of other non -carnivore type foods anyway, so I just jumped right in. Been doing it since August 1. Not sure how Im feeling about it. Are you keto? How long? What has been your food choices up until now.

Eat FATTY meat. Not lean. If it’s lean add fat.

No need to do this. Eat the meat you enjoy and can afford. If you have bodyfat to lose then don’t add fat.

Yes but I just worry about rabbit starvation. I’m a bit lower body fat now.

Cravings will change when needed, and more fat can be added later on. But going out the gate adding fat to everything can cause gain pretty easily.

If you are thinking about doing it, why not just try for a day. I’m guessing you are already eating a high fat/moderate protein diet, just kick up your meat and drop the vegetables/fruit one day. When you see that its not that crazy, do it for 2 days, ect.

I think the whole all or nothing element of carnivore is unnecessary. To see the most benefits, yeah you might need to really dial it in, but improvements are there for the grabbing.

Your Uriah may turn to acidic and you may get lower back pain. So make sure you take some ACT and lemon juice to lower the acidity of the uriah. And make sure your electrolytes intake are sufficient.

Carnivore otherwise is a great diet.

I practice what some carnivore purists might consider lazy/dirty carnivore. Others will call it Keto. 99% of the time it’s only beef, bacon, eggs and butter. To get here, I just didn’t buy stuff that wasn’t an animal product when I ran out.

I think that switching to carnivore was the easiest and simplest dietary transition I have ever made.

I stopped eating veg, and ate more meat, fish, eggs and cheese. Added a bit more organ meat into the mix, which I enjoy.

Simple.
And a heck of a lot easier than all that macro obsessing that some people do on keto.

I like salt, so I add it if I want it. Sometimes I forget, and the world doesn’t end.

Had a few concerns about too much protein, so got some test strips and tested my urine - and no detectable traces. so stopped worrying about that.
Had some digestion problems along the way, but kind suggestions on this forum led me to digestive enzymes, so that is now sorted.

How long have you been ZC?? I’m sliding that way.

Me?
Since just before Christmas, so… 8 months now.

I was just going to do it for a week to let my guts settle down after a tummy bug, but it kind of stuck, and every attempt I’ve made to reintroduce keto veg levels has been unpleasant, so here I am, The Happily Accidental Carnivore. :sunglasses:
