Toxic allergens stored in fat

(James) #1

Hi everyone I’m Jim ,
Iv been off the beer for 3 months , intermittent fasting for 2 months and Keto for 6 weeks and lost 13kg to date.
I had a 10 year period in my life when I was allergic to tomatoes , I stoped having allergic reactions to them about 5 years ago.
Sunday night I started getting a rash all over my legs and thighs. The only new thing iv added to my diet is black tea (trying to cut back on coffee) about 2 weeks ago.
I don’t think the tea is to blame as I haven’t had any since Sunday night but the lumps and rash remain.
Is it possible that there are bad toxins stored in the fat that the Keto is burning off?

Cheers
Jim

Google “Keto Rash”. It’s a real thing.

(Sheri Knauer) #3

Yes. Definitely. People can store different toxins in our body fat that are then released when body fat is used as fuel.

Have wondered about what might be stored away in those fat cells. Whatever it is, it’ll have to get dealt with at some point.

My wife seems to have a reaction to soy that I’ve wondered if it’s something similar going on.

I’ve heard that former drug users can have some flashbacks (not quite the right word).

Just googled the Keto rash and that looks exactly like iv got on the legs and thighs.
I’ll Push on and hopefully it sorts itself out.
Cheers for the input

I don’t know where I heard this but I’m pretty sure a podcast with Megan Ramos recommending a cup of strawberries daily for a week or so and a topical application of something! Oh Im sorry I can’t recall but someone else may? I’ll try to find the podcast and post if I do.

Cheers

My skin looks so much better since keto (8 months in) and really started to improve after fasting (brown age spots fading), which I assume might be some autophagy going on.

The last time I fasted I ended up with 3 small pimple-like outbreaks - one on my chin, one on my forearm and one on my hand. My theory is this is my body expelling stuff through my skin since I do not normally have this happen at age 59.

Apparently some people have pockets of glucose stored in their fat cells which causes blood glucose rises during fasting too. All sorts stored in fat cells.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #11

Welcome to the forums, and thanks for the link to Megan Ramos’ podcast. You’re going to be a real asset around here, it looks like.

Sorry about your rash, I hope the strawbs and ACV sort it out.

So glad you found it! Believe it or not I woke up this morning and thought “Apple Cider Vinegar!” Haha! Brain processed it overnight :joy:

(James) #13

I got the berries and the apple cider vinegar with the mother ,watered down still tastes nasty  and it burns on the skin.
Hope it works.

Bit disappointed , iv had to go off diet.
The rash was killing me , couldn’t sleep and having problems bending my knees as the rash went around behind them.
The carbs seem to stop the rash from getting worse immediately, hopefully it clears up soon and I can try restarting Keto , maybe 50 carbs/day instead of 21 that I had been doing.

Minute 23:30 has the apple cider vinegar and berries protocol.

How’s the rash now Jim? I’ve been itching myself and wanted to check in and see if you got past it…
