@leealice According to a talk @richard gave, ammonia toxicity starts around 3 g/kg of body weight, if I recall correctly. But you are likely to spike insulin before reaching that point, which is another reason to keep protein moderate, somewhere in the range of 0.8 to 1.5 g per kg of lean body mass. Try LeeAnn’s suggestion of setting your calculator to “maintenance,” and I think you’ll see something closer to that range.

Personally, I don’t count macros, I just keep my carbs as low as possible, eat lots of fat, and let the protein take care of itself. It seems to work. :bacon:
