Clearly they’re very high in carbs, especially if you’re aiming for under 20 net carbs a day.

That said, once in a while, I will have 4-5 tortilla chips at a restaurant, which is maybe around 7-8 net carbs. The rest of my meal will be zero carb.

Same for fried plantains. If it’s only a few, it might be OK once in a while. But some people won’t stop at a few…

If you really need tortilla chips I bet you could cut up the low carb tortillas and fry those in a good fat. They are 6 carbs per tortilla. Some folks cannot/will not eat grains/corn period so go with what works for you.

You can make tortilla chips from fathead dough.

There’s also cheese crisps as a sub for tortilla chips.
