Hi Carl and Richard, last night
I listened to a talk by Dr Ron Rosedale on youtube from Low Carb Down Under about TOR , protein and aging. It was quite deep and hard going but he certainly got me thinking. He says that cancer is not a metabolic disease and its too much protein that has the greatest effect on cancer cells, not carbohydrate.
I remember watching a documentary years ago in which Valter Longo explained the effects of fasting and IGF1 in the body. He too said eating too much protein was like putting your foot on an accelerator that makes the cells divide.
Ron Rosedale therefore suggests we consume just 0.6 grams of protein per lean body mass . What are your thoughts because I am now very confused.
