Too much protein?

(Sarah Lynn ) #1

Hello all!

This is my first post (so exciting). I am on my 4th day of trying to do keto. I am feeling good, cravings have subsided. However, I have noticed that my protein is always above target (target it 73g, today I had 91g!). I am a vegetarian (I do eat fish) and I have noticed that a lot of my meat alternatives are protein heavy. But I find that eating more veggies instead of these alternatives always puts me over my carb target (15g). Any recommendations or solutions would be welcome! Being vegetarian is nonnegotiable for me, so any suggestions to introduce meat will be unhelpful.

Thanks!

Sarah

Eat fatty fish - The term “fatty fish” may sound unappealing, but actually these are the tastiest and healthiest foods from the sea. Oily fish such as salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel, and trout are full of omega-3 fatty acids – good fats.

Why do you believe that you’re consuming too much protein?

Yeah. Only over your “ target “ by 18g?
Not Sure if that’s too much

Since you do eat fish
Get some great fats and omega w sardines ( wild planet brand - I like )
Great nutrients and Minerals as well

Just because I am hitting more than my target and I know too much protein means you will not hit ketosis
