Too much fat?

Is it necessary to have bullet proof coffee and all that? I am weighing once a week and losing about a pound a week, which may be good since I am going to be 54 at the end of the month and I figure I need to drop about 80 pounds and don’t want hanging skin if I can help it. I am down about 5 pounds since January 22nd and my skin looks fantastic. Some days I feel lighter and can see a difference, other times, not so much. I feel lighter.

I’ve read varying opinions about fat. Some folks say you have to figure your total daily energy expenditure and figure 20 gms carbs, 50 or 60 grams protein, and the rest fat so you don’t wind up starving. Others say that you don’t need to eat all that fat bc you want your body to burn its fat, which makes more sense.

Can you point me to a resource, please?

Thanks.

Yes, <20 g carbs, about 50g protein for me at least, the rest Fat up to your TDEE. If you don’t do that you end up with calorie restriction.

Hope I pasted the right one

No, bullet proof coffee is an option on a keto diet.

One a keto diet, attempt to maintain the following goals;

  1. Keep the amount of total carbs you eat at, or below 20g.
  2. Daily caloric breakdown;
  • 5% carbs
  • 20 to 25% Protein
  • 70% to 80% Fat

An easy way to track caloric input is with the use of an App such as MyFittnessPal (the free version)

An introduction video to a keto weight loss program is as follows;
