To work out or not to work out

I’ve heard conflicting things in regards to whether to exercise in the early stages of keto. I’m tossing up whether to suspend my gym membership for a month. Some days I feel like keto really helps with workouts other days I feel like I’m lifting lead limbs.

I can’t tell you what to do about your gym membership, but I will say…If you feel like working out, DO IT. If you don’t, then grab some bacon. The most Important thing is to listen to your body.

I always exercised as normal after my random drift into this lifestyle called keto…

When you start out, your system needs time to adjust so you don’t want to force it. It seems like many people are able to continue their normal workout without issue, but it’s definitely not recommended to start working out if you haven’t been already, or to add to your routine.

Admittedly, I’m in the camp of “why run when I have a car”. So I’m rather enjoying telling people I don’t work out at all when they ask me about my weight loss. I just try to have bacon, pork belly, or steak everyday. And a good day is a three.

If you decide to keep it, it’s just 1 month
Just use the treadmill, bike, rower, stepper, and or choice of light cardio

If it matters, for me at least, I did not let up w my exercise at all

Once I discoved the magic of pink salt , it made all the difference as well😀

I was back exerecising in my home gym before discovering keto a couple months ago and didn’t let the new eating interfere with the exercise program. It took a while to realign macros so I was easing into it. It has been far easier because I’m tracking with cronometer and a kitchen scale to learn what’s really going on with the food part. My pattern is to plan a day of eating where the calories are 100 above resting metabolic rate so that the calorie defict is calories consumed by activity including exercise. Cronometer and a steps counter helps me estimate calories for activity. In my life the exercise and activity adds up to enough to burn about 3500 calories a week. Half that would be fine.

If you’ve already been training, don’t abandon it, just go to Maintenance. That means cutting frequency down to one or two times per week. About every four days or so. That way you don’t lose any progress.
