This victory is a double edged sword

A friend posted some lovely pictures of Ethiopian food this morning and…I didn’t want any! I am just. not. hungry. :open_mouth:

This is a victory! That said, this is also kind of sad.

I LOVE food - pictures of food, recipe books, blogs, cooking food, shows about food… I love that tingle of longing and that spark of inspiration about what to make/where to go. But now, I’m just not as interested. I’m sated, I suppose. I consume (haha) keto food media, but it is with more of a detached interest, and less of that uncontrollable urge to make+consume allTheThings.

Well worth it, but also a little wistful. Maybe it’s time for another hobby.

I used to think of eating food as a hobby but that was until I started gaining weight from what I was eating (everything). I now understand what I thought was love was simply addiction.

It took some getting used to, but I am quite happy with how my desire to eat is not as compelled by what I see and smell. This is how it is supposed to be.

Ethiopian still makes my mouth water but I getcha.

True, it is pretty fabulous. And to be fair (to myself, at least) I did also spend some time watching Sugarless Crystals keto recipe and review videos on YouTube, so perhaps my food fancy has become something different rather than disappeared altogether.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #5

My keto hell: Wanting to eat bacon, but not being hungry!
