The scales are liars

Two months ago, weighing exactly what I weigh today on the scales, I bought a pair of rigid motorcycle pants on sale which I barely fit into. I could just about do the button up and be ok whilst standing, but sitting down in them wasn’t an option- so I couldn’t wear them on a ride yet.

I thought I’d try them on today, despite no change on the scales I feel and look slimmer. Today, not only am I able to get them on easily- they are actually gaping at the back (when I sit down) and I’ve had to do them up on the tightest setting (a button which closes the waist by an inch on either side).

I weigh exactly the same on the scales yet I am much smaller!

Hence, the scales are lying bastards as per usual. I do wish folk would stop placing so much importance on them. How your clothes fit and how you feel are much better measures of success!

Ok that’s enough from me- I’m going on a ride in my swanky new pants :+1:

Wow! That’s quite a fun surprise. Congrats and enjoy your ride! :sunny::motorcycle::+1:

The pants- oh and this is my ‘skinny’ riding jacket too! Wins all around today.

I’ve been mooning over a bike for years but we have no place to keep it outside. I’m so jealous and you look fab in your new pants! Looks like a nice day for it!

The scales are liars for sure!! I’ve been in the same “decade” since January and my pants size has decreased steadily all year long.

I think the scale causes more harm than good. Run over it with your bike!
