The Frog Experience This Evening

#1

Half an hour ago I was out in my garden re-planting sunflowers from one area to another ( at 10.20pm UK time); almost but not quite dark. I picked up the bag of compost and hand transferred compost/soil from the bag into my pot. Shocked to see a frog in the handful of soil I put into the pot; but absolutely delighted at same time. Its a NSV 'cos I have so much energy and interest in my garden now that I was lucky enough to have this experience tonight. I’m very happy

We sometimes get tiny little frogs in our loo @buffy  We’re on a bush block with an enviro friendly septic where they like to hang out but sometimes the cheeky buggers make their way up the pipes! Even in a loo they’re adorable

Awsome Safi! We used to find tiny fingernail size frogs when we first moved here as the garden was completely overgrown and lots of water/drainage problems. Sadly they disappeared once the foliage was cut back. Thanks for sharing your lovely experiences!!! Ali

Awww. My daughter would be thrilled. Friends of ours had soil hauled in from a drained farm pond and put on their property to correct some water drainage issues. It was packed full of tiny little frogs. My daughter had a grand time chasing them, trying to catch them. They had quite a lot of frogs the following year living in the ditch, down by the road. That was several years ago, so I’m not sure what has happened to the frog population in recent years.

I’m dying here @buffy  There is something about their little faces that just slays me!

Know what you mean. Thinking of reintroducing a wet area in our garden. One problem though: the hosepipe ban coming into force at beginning of August! Can’t believe England is about to introduce this; we had such a wet, cold, awful winter… little frogs need all the help they can get so have put shallow bowls of water out for them  :sunny: Frogs legs might be good keto food but I can’t go there!!!

This is one of my favorite posts EVER !!! :herb::frog::crescent_moon::sparkles:

Thank you @SlowBurnMary . This has given me so much pleasure and the little frogs now have water in my garden. A major NSV in my personal experience. :sunny:

Thank you! I appreciate we’re going off keto, but I do love those little frogs and the picture. Very funny!!! I promise never, ever to eat a frogs leg for the rest of my life. Last time (and only time) I was 15 years old and staying with a French family in their home. Many, many years ago…….

This picture will stay with me forever, so no frogs will ever knowingly die in my garden . Will I sleep tonight, probably not 'cos of this picture . I hold you entirely responsible for my lack of sleep  (joking my friend!) . You made me smile!!!
