Sometimes after a 75-80% fat meal my belly feels a bit heavy. Green tea always gives me some relief from that fullness. Does having a cup of tea induce any negative consequences with digestion in a nearly full tummy?
Tea After a Meal
There shouldn’t be any problem with it.
If you like green tea, why not try Matcha tea? It’s like green tea on steroids and packs more health benefits in each cup.
Thanks, I’ll check it out. The reason I posed this question is some reading I’ve done stated it’s not a good idea to add a lot of liquid before, during or right after a meal due to the effect of diluting our stomach acid and delaying digestion. Don’t know if that is true or rates right up there with fat blocks our arteries nonsense.
Dr. Fung promotes use of green tea, and also show evidence of its waist reducing properties. I drink Green tea all the time, but that means nothing.
Tea shouldn’t be an issue.
However, if you are having digestive issues, try a spoonful of apple cider vinegar in water, or preferably add it somewhere in your meal if possible.
Some will say you don’t take acid, but you need the extra acid to balance out pH levels and to be able to absorb vitamins and minerals – the cause of your indigestion. See the following video starting at the 2:19 mark:
The only issue I see would be drinking too much before or during a meal if someone has problems eating enough to remain above starvation’s levels, as it could fill you up and not allow room
for real food.
