Taking medicine during a fast

I have to take some pills and I am doing a 4 days water fast. Will taking medicine break my fast?

No. But if the medicine is supposed to be taken with food, be very careful. If taking the medicine is urgent and you should take it with food, end the fast. If not urgent and needs food, take it after you’ve finished the fast, if food not needed, take it now.

If you do find your stomach getting upset taking meds on a fast, you can use 1 tbsp of either psyllium husk or chia seeds in a glass of water. You have to let them soak for like 15 minutes and take your pills with that. This is what Megan at IDM recommends.
