Sweating Buckets?

(Alison) #1

Hey Keto-pros… I’ve seen some mention of night sweats on the forum, this is re’ regular light/moderate exercise: I don’t typically sweat a lot, any more than average… I took my first yoga class last night since beginning keto 3 weeks ago, and I was soaked, almost like I was in a medium heavy rain. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I felt a bit woozy, hit salt & mag afterwards and was fine. Just clarifying that this is totally fine/normal, par for the course. Thank you!

Yes, but over time, it went away in my case.

I wouldn’t freak out over an isolated incident, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it par for the course. I had just the opposite experience. I used to have hyperhydrosis when I used to eat the SAD, which cleared up completely once I got my hormones in order on LCHF with occasional fasting.

Obviously, if it’s hormones (which I believe it is), it’s going to be different for different people, but the answer is the same: KCKO

The opposite happened to me as well. I sweat much much less now than I did before and love every minute of it.

(Alison) #5

Thanks Tom, good to know. I hope it’s the same here!

Hopefully it evens out soon, but I’ll keep an eye on it while I KCKO, as it’s not the norm. My body & hormones are likely pretty confused right now  Thank you, Chris!

Thanks Bart! This is encouraging, and now on my list of keto life goals! Fingers crossed :crossed_fingers::hugs:

I forgot all about that. I was having night sweats that were really, really sweaty. I was very wet when I woke up. But it went away around the time I got “fat adapted”. I don’t know if they were correlated though.

I sweat way way less. It’s as if my body is cooler. Better circulation? IDK

I suspect that it has something to do with better usage of electrolytes, but I don’t honestly know. Many people actually use spray magnesium as a form of deodorant I think. But, I don’t know the science, so I defer to the science dudes for that stuff.

Perhap it is a sign of an increase in metabolism? Were you feeling cold before keto?

I know I sweat less now, maybe because less bodyfat, and I don’t remember a phase of increased sweat.

I don’t get the night sweats as much as I get sweaty during the day. I don’t know what it is. I am sweating like a freaking heroin addict. :joy:

It’s lovely, isn’t it!
