Survival TV shows

So I just watched, Alone Season One and Two. Those guys ate a lot of food in most cases. I can’t help but think if they were keto adapted that they would have a easier time. Most appeared to be carb loaded going in and then they suffered as they had a learning curve on getting food.

Anyway, I love watching those types of shows, Naked and Afraid and what not. It’s amazing how much weight they lose. I’d love to see results on how many keep the weight off. I would guess they gain it back in spades, if they go back to eating FDA guidelines.

My husband and kids like watching Naked and Afraid and I always wondered how someone who is keto adapted would do. I always thought if I went on the show (which i never would, lol) the tool I would bring is a salt lick and I would do some extended fasting leading up to the show to get my fasting muscles working!

I love those shows too… It is interesting that most of the people naturally look for animal sources in order to feed themselves. It is rare to see people foraging for edible plants and such. Most of the shows the people are in the wilderness for too short a time to become keto adapted but for sure their carbs are really low.

I have seen a couple of episodes of Naked and Afraid where it show people preparing in the weeks ahead of starting their adventure and lots of them are increasing food intake in order to put on weight… seems like the wrong approach to me, but what do I know…

It should be called Blurred and slightly at unease but yeah some of those shows are neat. Bear Grylls was my favorite.
