Suggestions 4 best brands Protein powder

God’s blessings to all my ketonian family this morning! Hey I’m in search of a good brand of grass fed whey protein isolate to take after my work outs as a recovery drink. Hope my way of thinking is right. My strategy is one cup of coffee/MCT oil powder before workout and once I get ahold the right protein powder have it about 1 hr after my workout. I’m trying to gain lean muscle mass after losing so much fat🙏

Not grass fed but my boyfriend uses ISO-100 since it’s so low in carbs.

Something to bear in mind is that whey protein can spike insulin. If your goal is lowering insulin, then whey protein can be counterproductive.

Strongly agree with this. Don’t supplement protein in this form, just eat meat. You get all the good fat with it too.

From what i read about grass feed whey is there are not the benefits unlike beef because of the processing. Plus if you think about it whey protein has no fat in it and one of the benefits of grass feed is the increase of omega 3 in the beef. Like others have said there is a increase in insulin from the whey but since you are taking it after you work out your insulin will already be up and this is the best time to take it. There is a better amino acid profile in whey over other forms of protein so there is value in taking it. Now as far as quality. just get one that taste good and is low in carbs and does not come with added creatine in it. I just look for sales most times. On brand by bodybuilding.com is not bad. If you are looking for near 0 carb hydro whey will have less carbs but for me the cost does not justify it.

No my goal isnt too completely avoid spiking insulin since it is a hormone that can take the protein to the muscles directly that’s my goal. But I’m still a bit at a dellima as to what I’m going to choose. I think I’ll make my own protein powder mix with collegen hydrosolate, cacao powder and swerve or processed erythritol.

I like this one. They also make an isolate but I prefer the concentrate which has some fat.
