Has anyone woken up with a bloated stomach and severe nausea from Keto?
I think I overdid it on the pork rinds last night but my partner is afraid I’m secretly diabetic and am going into Ketoacidosis
Anyone?
Sudden extreme nausea 4 weeks in
The bloating sounds like maybe a sensitivity issue with something you are eating. Maybe vegetables, artficial sweeteners, dairy, nuts, eggs, MCT oil? What kinds of things are you eating typically during your day and is something relatively new to your diet that you haven’t included regularly before?
The nausea could be from electroyte imbalance so be sure to get up to 8 cups of water per day and 2+ teaspoons of salt. So many things are regulated by sodium and if this is off, it’s not unusual to suffer from a variety of things.
You can silence your partner by telling them that only people with Type 1 diabetes are at risk for ketoacidosis.
I always eat the same things, but I did find a new kind of pork rinds yesterday and def ate too many. I drink 2-3L of water a day. All my food has a lot of salt in it… should I have extra salt?
You could measure 2-3 teaspoons of salt and put it in a little dish. Use it throughout the day and see if you’re using enough.
I started swallowing about 5 grams of pink rock salt every night after dinner. If I don’t I get cramps in my thighs and biceps. After the salt I forget that it was happening within 15 minutes. And I salt liberally on my food. Otherwise I can’t get to sleep and I am miserable.
Can’t say I have
You’d know if you were Type 1 Diabetic tho
It’s hard to miss when you’re losing weight and withering away.
It’s not necessarily related to keto. If the symptoms persist, see your doctor.
Thanks Paul… I think I have the stomach flu, but someone was giving me a panic attack about what it “might” be. This was a panic post haha
Sorry to hear it.
Keto is limiting exposure to industrially produced processed food based on fructose (sugar) and wheat (especially the current mutagenically modified variant ) I seriously doubt getting less of those is the reason. None of those are essential for survival. I can’t see how getting more of those would improve your health in anyway shape or form.
Are you getting enough water? Are you getting enough salt? Daily? That’s the first place to look.
Hope you get well soon
Hey Jamie! If you’re still feeling sick today I wanted to tell you about grapefruit seed extract (NOT Grapeseed… GrapeFRUIT seed… 2 very different things)… you can buy a little bottle at a health store for $20, and keep it on hand. A few months ago when my daughter had a stomach flu, my sister recommended it and it helped her feel better within a half hour she had stopped her moaning like she was gonna die (and she really was suffering) and was able to fall asleep and rest. So anyway, I remembered that… remember last night I mentioned I felt sick after eating that Costco pizza (toppings)? hahaha… I took some grapefruit seed extract and felt better in 10 minutes. Research it!
Hey Thanks! I feel a lot better today, ate my first big meal last night and didnt feel too bad after!
Im looking it up to keep on hand!
