Strength exercise as vital as aerobic New research shows strength exercise could provide unique health benefits

The largest study to compare the mortality outcomes of different types of exercise found people who did strength-based exercise had a 23 percent reduction in risk of premature death by any means, and a 31 percent reduction in cancer-related death.

The winning formula wont change.

  • Keto to lose weight then
  • Exercise to live long (Bit of cardio, bit of strength training).

IMO if you’re going to pick strength training or cardio, strength training wins far and away for actual improvements to life and longevity.

Agreed. Think hunter gatherer. Run to catch the beast, grunt when carrying it home.

A lot of easy/moderate aerobic exercise to go look for pray too?

We are among the mammal species with the least drop in speed as distance increases (together with some canidae), which tends to indicate that endurance had a significant role during human evolution.

In any case, we can bait that most evolutionary adaptations that we have undergone did not predispose us for longevity. Evolution tends to encourage successful breeding, not longevity.
