Store bought keto ade or electrolyte drink

(Artemis) #1

I’m going to be away from home and not able to fix a homemade keto ade. I’m very sensitive to electrolyte imbalance.
What’s available at grocery stores and drugstores that I can pick up and drink daily while away from home?
Thanks.

I see a lot of mentions for Zippfiz.

Yes, I’ve also seen it mentioned. I also see Dr Price’s instant mixes.
Any recommendations???

I’ve never heard of that one, sorry.

Of the electrolytes, I only supplement magnesium so I don’t have experience with any drinks. I just read tons of posts and the one I see mentioned most often is the zipfizz.

Zipfizz is my lifesaver. You will still need something to supplement salt because zipfizz doesn’t have much.

If you have a samsclub membership you can get them there, or if you have amazon prime you can get it there. I believe Costco as well.

So if I get some ZippFizz, I’d have to add a bit of salt? Lite Salt has potassium chloride, and potassium is also listed as an ingredient in ZippFizz.
Or is it a better choice to add pink Himalayan salt?

I believe @Brenda has a disclaimer in her ketoade thread about lite salt. If you’re using zipfizz I think it would be safest to just use a sodium source that doesn’t include additional potassium.

KetoChow is now selling an electrolyte supplement in a little dropper, the size of eyedrops, that you just drop into water!

(bulkbiker) #10

can’t you just take the dry mix with you and buy some water?
Then you can weight out the correct amounts without having to worry?

(Artemis) #11

Sorry, not following. What dry mix?

(bulkbiker) #12

The dry stuff you add to water to make ketoaid? salt, potassium, magnesium…?
They are all available in dry format.

(Artemis) #13

I’ve been using magcitrate liquid, salt, ACV and lime juice. I guess finding a dry recipe would be a good idea.

Not sure about the store, but I order Jigsaw on Amazon

(bulkbiker) #15

Oh I see I only ever used magnesium citrate but it came in powder form… never bothered with ketoaid to be honest…and now just eating mostly meat.

(Artemis) #16

Oye vey! Many jigsaw supplements to chose from on Amazon. I don’t see one specific to electrolytes by jigsaw on Amazon. I did find it on another website. Is this it? I’ll check at my health food store.

Yep, that’s the one I use. It has sweeteners, so I don’t use it while fasting, but I use it a few times a week. It also has a pretty strong flavor, so I only use about 1/2 of what it calls for.
