Hello!!! I’m really new to keto! 2 weeks in, I’ve lost 6 pounds already and have such a liberation. However I’m finding at various times thought the day I get a stabbing pain in the top of my stomach. It comes and goes and some days lasts longer then others. Any ideas why?
Stomach pain?
Might be having trouble digesting fat, if it’s something you are not yet accustomed to. Maybe try a tbsp of apple cider vinegar in 8oz of water, or maybe a digestive enzyme tablet to help you break down the fats… these two items were helpful for me when I first started!
Does only drinking maybe 40 oz of water have something to do with It? Im a nurse who works pretty long days and don’t have the ability to drink like a fish.
Is it possibly an atypical cholelithiasis presentation? I had that. Felt like a dagger into the xyphoid process. No shoulder pain, no back pain, no GI issues; just this gawd-awful pain accompanied by rigors every time a stone got lodged in the bile duct (frequently at night while sleeping). Could last a few minutes or an hour and went away as suddenly as it started. Since it was so atypical, first they sent me to cardiology for an echo, then put me on amitriptyline for IBS, then finally months later an ER doc sent me for an ultrasound which found the gallbladder full of stones. Out it came! If it’s indeed that sudden acute-type pain, might be worthwhile to get an u/s.
Read the thread i started on Constipation. Dan Dan posted a link to a Tom Delauer video that was eye opening about the gut and problems that can happen (including constipation) on Keto.
