I have been on Keto 3 weeks and noticed that my stomach sometimes has a burning sensation. It’s not exactly a stomach ache but it definitely is a noticeable burning sensation. I had a hard time falling asleep last night because of this. Is this just my fat burning?
Stomach Burning Sensation
I doubt you can feel your fat burning.
This really is difficult to answer without more information. Is this sensation present after eating or all the time? Is it in your stomach or in the muscles of your stomach?
Just tossing out possible causes of stomach burning sensations, it could be related to IBS, dehydration, ulcers, acid reflux, lactose intolerance or some food intolerance. Could you name some of the things that you are eating now that you did not before?
It is inconsistent. I have it once a week and its all the sudden. Most recently, it happened all afternoon after lunch and sitting for a long time without moving (I was at a presentation for work). It persisted through the night and I could feel the burn when I woke up this morning. It feels like heartburn but in my stomach region.
Maybe it is dehydration because I didnt drink as much water yesterday than I normally do.
BTW, I was just kidding about being about to feel the fat burning LOL
The only time I’ve had stomach burning (worse than heartburn) was when I used sweet-n-low in some iced tea. I had that pain for a day and a half. Look at what you’re eating around the time it happens. Keep a food journal.
Do you eat dairy? A lot of people who aren’t lactose-intolerant still have problems digesting casein (milk protein). When the inflammation caused by eating carbohydrate subsides, people sometimes discover food problems they didn’t know about, because the symptoms had been swallowed up in the general noise, before.
Do you take probiotics? For some reason, I’ve noticed if I take a certain amount of Probiotics, my stomach feels burning hot. It’s the only way I can describe it…
