Steak dinner observation

#38

agree with Paul. Only reason I don’t binge on ‘keto bread’ is the crappy taste of it LOL

but any and all food can easily be a drug for every single person.
don’t for one minute think the carbs are not an addiction. They are for many and add mind games with ‘dieting’ and more you can easily have all kinds of addiction/physical/mind troubles from food.

Why not both? But both not together. Ketocarnivore creating blood based (internal) Bhb. Then when not eating carnivore, or eating dirty keto, eat some resistant fibrous starch source for large intestinal butyrate. It seems to be the balancing system between the two ways of eating.

Fangs, unless you never liked whole wheat artisan bread in the first place, you would definitely like the yeast risen keto bread I make, and maybe for you and Paul, that wouldn’t be good… But like I say, I’m more likely to binge on actual dinner foods.

#41

I bet your bread is delish! I am not a kitchen person so the few attempts at any ‘low carb bread subs’ for me were horrible. I bought some products and they were lousey also.

I never liked whole wheat anything. Never tried artisan bread but the thing is when you make a good one like you did  you are in good form to enjoy your good lc bread and that will put a smile on your face!! Happy you got such a nice recipe you enjoy.

Binge on dinner foods? You must have some real favorites.
Being Carnivore I can’t really binge on my meats. A 1 lb. ribeye is so filling to me I can’t usually add more. Seafood I can eat more than I need to eat…I can stuff up past being full a bit more cause of it being lighter meat and delish. But being seafood and lower in kcals and all…my body doesn’t care if I go a bit wild at all…and I sure love that.

I can binge out on crab legs for sure but sadly the carbs are my draw…my nightmare…the junky crap I gave up. Being a picky kind of eater even in carb land, I never ate a ton of variety…but the crappier stuff I did eat I ate a ton of it and wanted more and more all the time LOL

Carnivore controls it all for me. A truth of being so deeply keto adapted now that I just can’t add back in the carbs. Absolutely don’t need a carb in your life to survive…and that is a big plus for Carnivore eaters as a ‘thing’ but for me no carbs in my life is for security reasons. I hit into that over 10-12 total carb range and I feel it instantly. I know my body had carbs and they want more. So I am now a very cautious tight Carnivore eater. It just works so much better for me and is where I feel comfortable and happy.

interesting where these threads go…

I’ll eat my straw hat. You are right Paul. Bread is a drug.

I guess for me, I am thinking that we all can eat the way we want, and if we eat steak with fat it’s nobody else’s business, and if someone else wants to eat bread…they can eat the bread, until they need to change their ways.

Welcome Lucy.

I go through phases. I make the keto rolls from DietDoctor.com https://www.dietdoctor.com/video-make-perfect-keto-bread?autoplay=163382

While they are not a loaf of fresh rye, they are good enough. I usually make 6 rolls. I eat 2 the first day, sometimes 2 the second day and then I end up having to freeze them or they rot because I forget about them after a day or two. I did find that keto substitutes helped tremendously. The fat head pizza on the same site was great. It really helped when I was ordering pizza for the family. Every once in a while I make a keto cheesecake, especially when I go through periods where I crave dessert. I am now starting dairy free as an experiment so not sure what I can still use.

Also, the real reason I need rolls is there are times I am in a rush and I need something quick to eat that I can take with me that does not require a cooler or spoon. Anything on a roll really helps

Recipe please

They need to make this a sticky…
Anyway, here you go :slightly_smiling_face:

I need to make a couple more loaves tomorrow. Hate to go more than a day or two without it. Ate the heal this morning…

Was uncle Sammy overweight or “just right”?

“Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food” - Hippocrates

Alcohol is literally nothing more than food that has had fungus living on it, they eat the food and excrete alcohol as a bi-product. Alcohol has calories, like sugar.

Very fit. But he was an super driven man and very active.

#52

The food for the yeast. The excreted toxin for the drug effect.

(Wandering) #53

It’s no accident that we can metabolize alcohol. I mean it isn’t like some weird quirk of chance … we literally have enzymes and proteins in our liver, etc, to metabolize alcohol, because we evolved with it in our food. Lots of fruit, etc, that is “turning” has alcohol in it, and we evolved to get whatever we could out of that food.

#54

Yup. Nutrients from the fruit, a food substance. And evolved metabolism to detoxify the alcohol, a toxin.

#55

Thank you. Unfortunately I will not be making because of the wheat gluten. I have Hashimotos which predisposes me to being gluten sensitive. Does he have a wheat free bread?

Of the wheat free the diet doctor rolls are good

(Dirty Lazy Keto'er, Sucralose freak ;)) #56

Well kind of… But I think they would be completely different, and maybe not as good

(traci simpson) #57

I think I might stop eating so much steak.
