(Klc) #1

Hi!!! I am new here one week into my keto journey and until today I’ve been fine. But today I am STARVING!!! I am tracking calories (not restricting) and my macros and have been doing well. Drinking 2 L of water and a having salt for the headaches and hunger pangs. Any advice from the advanced ketones? Thank you!

Eat more fat! Nuts, avocados, cheese, sour cream, ranch dressing, pork rinds, deviled eggs.

Humans are high in fat. Cannibals need keto too.

Some more than others…

I agree. Eat more. Protein and fat are more satiating than carbs. @CarlKeller has given you some good ideas.

You can also add more fat with olives, bacon, heavy cream and cream cheese. Get fatty cheeses like double or triple cream Brie. I also like the double cream Gouda at Trader Joe’s. Salami and pepperoni are good fatty meats.

Use veggies as a fat delivery system by cooking with fat like coconut oil, avocado oil, tallow, lard, bacon grease, butter, and gee. Browned butter is especially good on broccoli, kind of nutty tasting. I also like creamed spinach or creamed cabbage. Use creamy salad dressings like blue cheese or ranch. Make chicken, tuna or egg salad and add lots of mayo, olives, diced sharp cheddar, pickles, capers or other tasty add ins. You can top steaks with butter or blue cheese and add extra egg yolks or heavy cream to your scrambled eggs. Make fatty, low carb sauces like hollandaise, bernaise, gravy or pan sauces. Use these with veggies and meats like steak or chicken.

Good luck!

A big bowl of ground beef with a large pat of butter, salt and pepper! Staves off hunger for me, so just a suggestion!
