Starbucks struggle

(Karla Sykes) #1

Today I have very intense cravings for some sugar and I messed up and got a venti Starbucks frappe. I immediately felt guilty but very satisfied. After I did it I got it out of my system worked out and back to my Keto Plan. I know I knocked myself out of keto because when I’m in keto I don’t feel hungry and I immediately felt hungry an hour later. I did very well by making myself some bacon and eggs with spinach and avocado. I messed up today but I’m not going to wallow in it

Try this:

Grande cold brew to first line
Heavy cream to second line
Ice to third line
Two scoops protein powder (not available everywhere anymore)
Two pumps sugar free syrup of your choice
Blend as a smoothie

OMG thank you so much I’m going to try this tomorrow

Grande Americano. Splash heavy cream. Sugar free vanilla syrup. 2 Splenda.

Can you guys get real coffee over there, or just Starbucks?

So you’re the reason Starbucks died in the
arse
in Australia  Long Black for me but I’ll risk a Flat White if I’ve been super active - even they taste like a lolly. We are a nation of coffee snobs but Melbourne is the capital!

Can’t deny it  Apparently, the hipster favourite about 300m away has an $80K roaster or grinder or maker or some such

I managed to get a Flat White on X’mas Day from an Indian restaurant (!!) - it was better than any coffee I had in Italy.

#10

Don’t say that to the American Pacific Northwest hipsters up here in Portland, or especially Seattle.

(Running from stupidity) #11

It’s OK, I don’t mind saying it to them

Alright, but unless you’re importing only the finest coffee beans excreted from animal feces, flown all the way from the remotest village in South America, along, and then brewing it with fresh bottled mineral water from the Andes, in the $125 French press you bought at the antique store next door to the local strip club, served alongside a vegan donut and your vitamin D3 pill, then you’re just a bougeois mainstream sellout by PNW standards.

I will choose local coffee shops over Starbucks every time. They are more likely to have better coffee, more character and interesting customers. I’ve never had that “dear God this is amazing jo.” experience at Starbucks. Then again I’m a simple Jo + half and half (or heavy cream, and yes, the better places have it.)

Here’s the thing. If the coffee is really good, you don’t need to candy it.

One of the things About keto is that you may be able to make a non-keto choice and still get back into keto. Please Please let’s let go of guilt when we make a non-keto choice.

(Jenny) #17

I do a flat white with almond milk, or just regular coffee w cream, but i go there very rarely.

(Mike W.) #18

We have plenty of options but Starburnts is about the only place who has HWC.

Never liked Starbucks. Used to get coffee from Costa Coffee quite often but not for ages, until last week when there was a massive queue to get out of the car park where I had been buying swan food. I sat waiting in the queue for 20 mins before parking my car again and going to get a coffee to pass the time. As soon as I tasted it I wondered how on Earth I had consumed it so often in the past :joy: Making my own is so much better. Got my recipe perfect now - decaf coffee, 6g coconut oil, 6g ghee, pinch of Lo Salt, one raw egg yolk - and blend.
