Starbucks Possible New Keto Food Option
Keto "Fast" Food Options that don't suck...or do they?
Ingredients on the list to be concerned about:
- Lactose (milk sugar)
- Maltodextrin (sugar)
- Potato starch (turns to sugar quickly)
- Cane sugar
- Rice starch (see above)
- Natural flavors (can be used to hide sugars, etc.)
Given that there’s no fiber listed, even if you’re counting net carbs, you’d be at half the typical recommended daily intake. Probably not a great idea for keto.

pretty sure it’s 9 carbs for both:

I’m happy they are getting on with the low-carb WOE. This isn’t perfect… but it’s a nice start
It’s nice to see Starbucks make the effort to offer low carb options but I’m turned off by the cane sugar, rice and potato starches.
Guys! This is all so nice to see! And totally makes me feel better about my post about being bummed about the negative reaction to my post over here:
Thanks for pointing out the potential positives. Obviously any food we don’t make at home usually leaves something to be desired, but, baby steps!

Dang, that’s a no go for me. For my teenager, it may be an option for her…
I am new to keto. And I tried the egg bites at Starbucks this morning. They were surprisingly tasty. In a pinch it seems most on this forum agree they are not bad. Still learning…
