Sprint Triathlon

#1

Any sprint triathloners here? I do short sprint triathlons for beginners and was wondering if anyone else here trains for sprint tri’s. I’m thinking about my training plans and my plan for race days. I usually race without eating much race day because 1. I’m not hungry at 0:dark 30 because I’m generally asleep at that hour and don’t eat before noon, even before keto. 2. I am sick to my stomach before every race and spend pre-race time in the bathroom  (race anxiety sucks.) Anyway, in the past I have drank bcaa’s, salt, nuun electrolyte tablets, and eaten a few dried beets for nitric oxide. I plan on placing in my age group this year as I have come close in the past but was too overweight to run any faster than I, was along with chronic pain that is no longer a problem. So wondering about training fasted while keto, (that is how I always train because I don’t like to eat before I exercise. Also thinking about ef the week before the race as I feel like super woman during ef. Wondering what others do…?

Did 3 sprint tris years ago. I only did them to finish not to place. So I worked slowly up to it.

Well, my plans and reality may be at odds, Lol. I have managed 8 th place in my age group in a beginner sprint tri. I just could never run faster. Sadly, my training is kind of haphazard. As in I am not religious about it despite wanting to be. I also train with my little girl so that limits what I am able to do some days too. My ai disease prevented me from going all in with training. So I would train when I could but it was very hard as I was often too fatigued to even think about training hard. And I had chronic pain issues, add to that about 60 extra pounds of fat and you get the picture.
