So I have been on Keto now for a little over two weeks. Beyond feeling completely renewed, it has been amazing. Had carb withdrawal which basically felt like before I went Keto and woke up two days later feeling better then ever.
Last night we went to a church school fundraiser at a local brewery which was pretty awesome. The beer is great and I was ok with having my favorite beverage. Problem was the food, the wings went before I could get there and it was choose of salad, breaded cutlets, rice, and pasta with sausage.
I chose to have salad and picked the sausage out of the pasta. I used to love love love pasta, but when my wife and I started whole 30 last year I gave it up and haven’t missed it. It’s really just packing peanuts so the sausage doesn’t get damaged during shipping.
Now to the interesting part, I had about 4 beers in the course of three hours and was hammered. I stopped drinking on Keto except for two light beers on weekends 1 each day. These were full blown delicious ipas. Local too! But I usually don’t get hammered especially if they are spaced out. I also was not driving, just so that is clear. My wife DD for us. So when I got home I checked my blood/glucose and it was at 65. So I made a plate with sausage cheese and spaghetti squash and about an hour later I was back in the 80’s and felt better. Today woke up with a fasting BG of 88. Should I be keeping and eye on things and is there anything I should becareful of?
Something interesting last night happened

So when you go Keto and you have sugar your body will over react because it thinks your goin back to a dysfunctional diet?

I’m guessing with the extra carbs from the beers and the alcohol, your metabolism was working extra hard to process out the alcohol and deal with some extra carbs. Extra insulin, good sign that your insulin metabolism is working efficiently.
Where it stored the beers… probably not so good, but long haul, I bet this isn’t gonna be a regular deal.
