Sodium intake; new to keto

#1

Good evening. New to keto. I have been doing keot for 8 weeks and am down 22 lbs. starting weight 280. I am 57 years old and I do have high blood pressure…not through the roof, but still on a low dose for it. I LOVE this diet. my next move was gastric bypass, with scared the heck out of me. so i am happy have found this way of living. here’s the thing…i am struggling with the salt intake. can someone reassure me that i am not putting myself at risk with all this salt intake? i am eating bacon, on occasion salami, and all sorts of high salt foods. do i have to then add sea salt to my water? should i concerned with not getting enough salt on this way of living or is it the opposite? Is there a way to test my sodium levels? I am doing the keto moto blood pricks for both insulin and ketones, and i am right where i should be on both. any information would greatly help. happy to be a part of this forum. very informative.

Read the book “The Salt Fix”. It is chock full of information documenting that salt is not harmful for blood pressure at all.
